Starting Condition
The before photo shows palmetto, vines, and low brush filling the ground beneath established trees beside a paved edge. Very little open ground is visible.
The Goal
Open the understory and make the ground easier to see and approach while keeping the established trees and central palm that define the site.
Approach
Selective understory clearing opened the ground around the retained trunks instead of removing the full stand.
The Result
Dense low growth has been opened around the retained trunks and central palm, leaving more visible ground and processed vegetation beneath the trees.
