Honest Pricing
Land Clearing Cost in Rural Florida
Every property in Dunnellon and Ocala is different. While we can’t give a flat "per acre" price without seeing it, we can tell you exactly what drives the cost.
What Influences the Quote?
1. Density & Type of Growth
Light brush and palmettos are faster to mulch than heavy timber or thick vine tangles. The thicker the vegetation, the more time and fuel it takes.
2. Acreage vs. Complexity
A wide-open 5-acre pasture is simpler than a 1-acre lot with a house, well, and fences to work around. Technical clearing requires more care and time.
3. Terrain & Soil
Dry, flat ground is ideal. Swampy areas, steep slopes, or sugar sand can slow down machines and require different approaches.
4. Tree Size
Mulchers are great for trees up to ~6-8 inches. Larger pines or oaks may need to be felled and stacked or hauled, which changes the equipment needed.
5. Disposal Method
Forestry mulching (left on site) is usually cheaper than clearing + hauling away, because it saves on dumpster/trucking fees and landfill costs.
6. Access
Standard gates are fine, but if we need to cut a path just to get equipment in, that setup time is factored in.

Common Pricing Questions
Be wary of "too cheap" quotes.
If a price sounds too good to be true, ask about insurance and equipment. Undersized machines take twice as long to do a worse job.
Day rate vs. Project price?
For defined jobs (like "clear this 1 acre"), we usually give a flat price. For general "clean up as much as you can" work, a day rate often works best for your budget.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge for the estimate?
No. Estimates for land clearing within our service area (Dunnellon, Ocala, etc.) are free.
Is it cheaper to burn or mulch?
Mulching is usually faster and cheaper because it skips the "pile and burn" or "haul away" steps. It also doesn't require fire permits.
Do I need a permit to clear my land?
It depends. Clearing a home site often comes with the building permit. Clearing underbrush on ag land usually doesn't. We can help you check with the county.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Check, cash, and bank transfers are standard.
What if I find hidden trash or concrete?
We try to identify this during the walk-through. If we hit unexpected buried debris, we'll stop and discuss the options with you immediately.
