Our Story
Meet the Owner
of Klaus Excavation
Locally owned. Hard‑working. Straight‑shooting. When you hire Klaus Excavation, you’re hiring Virgil — the guy who shows up, runs the machine, and makes sure your land is ready the right way the first time.
A Local Owner You Can Count On
Virgil Klaus brings a lifetime of hard work and a ranch-raised work ethic to every job. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he spent decades running a business and developing small ranch-ettes before a chapter in the Texas Hill Country. Now settled in Dunnellon, Virgil has turned his passion for land transformation into Klaus Excavation.
At 65, Virgil isn't the retiring type. He operates every machine himself, driven by a genuine love for turning overgrown brush into something beautiful. Whether it's a home site or a horse farm, he brings a bit of Oklahoma grit, Texas cowboy spirit, and Florida sunshine to help neighbors realize their land's potential.
Most jobs are within about 30 miles of Dunnellon and usually involve the kind of work rural owners care about most: clearing underbrush, opening up a homesite, improving fence lines, prepping a building pad, or making a wooded piece of land usable again.
